Dividing Line

TreeCrackThis post marks the break between two trips to Tasmania.  Everything below this post (earlier) is about the first trip, December 2015 – March 2016, Understanding Standing Under.  Everything above this post is from the current trip November 2017 – January 2018, Slow Exposure.

What may be of interest to some is that this cracked log is the remains of a huge tree near Peter’s Windgrove house.  He heard it crack one night, this 8 foot crack here, and knew it was going to fall on the house. So Peter being Peter and living in the bush, he got up and chain sawed it down in the middle of the night – making sure it fell in the right direction, away from the house and only destroying the deck.
