Theo lives down the road from Peter and apparently he has been flying drones since before he could walk. He heard of what model I brought and came over to check it out. I know enough about drones to be dangerous. He being 15 and really cool knows enough about drones to be talented. We headed out to Peter’s cliffs with 3 batteries and had a blast. Click on to see some results.I had learned how to program it so it can fly on auto-pilot. He, of course, eschews auto-pilot and takes full control. Shortly we were zooming over the cliffs and out to sea. At one point while looking at the real-time display he, calmly as a commercial pilot, states “We are now going 20 miles per hour.” Not the drone, mind you, but “WE” are going 20 mph… And yes we were. We both were flying all around this spectacular landscape.
At some point I will start putting all the shots in some type of intelligent sequence, but just for today I thought I would post a short 2.5 minute roll of dailies. Again, for the full effect, make it full screen. Enjoy.
Oh WOW! Frozen in New Mexico, waking up to flying over the blue-green waves — what a way to start Monday! Thanks!
Beautiful, Dan. Thanks so much for sharing your journey. It’s inspiring.
Wow! That was stunning!
